Margaret Doyen, 81, of Gwinn, died Friday morning, November 16, 2018 at U.P. Health System-Marquette. Margaret was born on July 2, 1937 in England to the late Arthur and Alice (Adamson) Churchyard. On April 17, 1957, she married Donald Doyen in Aldeburgh, England who was stationed there with the United States Air Force.

After Don’s retirement in 1978, the family moved to Gwinn where Don was born and raised.

Margaret was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gwinn. In her free time, she enjoyed decorating her home as well as caring for her garden and flowers. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald Doyen of Gwinn; five children, Jo-Anne (Tom) Gustafson of Goldsboro, NC, Richard (Hyong) Doyen of Spokane, WA, Donna DeLaGarza of San Antonio, TX, Andrew (Kelli) Doyen of Ishpeming and Marie Doyen of Iron Mountain; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; also surviving is a sister, Maria (John) Sparrow of England as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were several sisters and brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 21st at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gwinn, with the Rev. Allan Mott officiating.

The Doyen family will greet relatives and friends in the Baraga Room of the church beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the mass. Burial will take place in the Gwinn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Room at the Inn Warming Shelter, 347 Rock Street, Marquette, MI 49855 in Mrs. Doyen’s memory.
