Margaret’s Obituary KEMPF, Margaret L. (Jolly) – of Burton, MI, age 98, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 16, 2019. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Joel Stiff officiating. Burial immediately following the service in Imlay Township Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors 11 AM-1 PM Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Atherton United Methodist Church or Lighthouse Baptist Church. Margaret was born in Holly, MI on April 28, 1921, daughter of the late Robert and Mildred (White) Jolly.

She married Lawrence E. Kempf on May 27, 1941 in Imlay City, MI and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2015. Margaret was a long time active member of the Atherton United Methodist Church of Burton. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking and was a ham radio enthusiast.

Margaret was also an editor for the Flint Journal. Margaret is survived by 2 daughters, Laura Wallis of Burton, MI and Martha Knapp of Fenton, MI; 6 grandchildren, Mark (Mary Beth) Sousa, David (Stephanie) Sousa, Jane (Dave) Plamondon, Joseph (Carrie) Knapp, Amy Hawkins and Jason (Pilar) Knapp; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven L. Kempf; 3 sons-in-law, Denis Sousa, Chester Wallis and Marvin Knapp; 2 brothers, Robert and Louis Jolly; 2 sisters, Minnie Luchenbill and Bonnie Austin.
