Patrick’s Obituary BOVEN, Patrick Henry – of Flint, MI, age 75, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, May 20, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2500 North Franklin Avenue, Flint, MI 48506; Fr.

Francis Faraci celebrant. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-8 PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10 AM until time of service Monday, May 20, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church. A Scripture Service will be held 5 PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 followed by sharing of memories at Allen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation or charity of your choice, in Pat’s memory. Pat was born in Flint, MI on July 16, 1943, son of the late Henry and Veronica (Griffin) Boven. In July 1970, Pat received his Journeyman Plumber license from the Michigan State Plumbing Board.

On August 27, 1977, Pat married Joy Oker. He retired from UA Local #370 Plumbers and Pipefitters in 2005 after 27 years of service. Pat was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the Legion of Mary.

He also served on the board of directors of the Flint East Side Boxing Club. Pat was a Golden Gloves Boxer competing in the featherweight division. Pat also enjoyed dancing, swimming, singing, bicycling, dressing to the nines and performing his personality acts for his friends and family.

He was famous for saying, “People are my hobby”. His love of people earned Pat several nicknames including, Brother Bov, Pat with the Hat, Mr. B., The Bover and Patty McBoven. Patrick is survived by his wife, Joy, “The Joy of My Life”; 5 children, Carmen Marie “Charmin Carmen” (Jeff) Nesbit, Tonya Therese “T.T.” (Scott) Reber, Michael Patrick “Little Tyke” (Amy) Boven, Tara Ann “T.

Dogg” (Zak) Kareem and Kim Veronica “Kimmers” (Jason) Quigley; 12 grandchildren, the triplets, Kyle, Tanner, Justin, Spencer, Gavin, Maddie, Megan, Emily, Jazmin, Taj, Mikki and William; 3 siblings, Mike (Jackie) Boven, Gail Grella and Cherlynn (Bill) Stroup; brother-in-law, Norm Doherty; many other loving family members and friends.
