Our angel mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Margaret Meldrum Heggie Reay, age 99, of Altonah, Utah, passed away at her home May 22, 2018. Margaret was born to George Smith Heggie and Nora Elizabeth Meldrum Heggie on July 11, 1918, in Raymond, Alberta, Canada. She was the fifth of 7 children.

Mom married Dean Alexander Reay and were married in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, and later sealed in the Cardston Alberta Temple. He died on December 31, 2001. Mom was active in church where she held positions as Primary President, a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers, worked in the Provo, Utah Temple and was organist for the ward.

Mom always had a lovely vegetable garden and a lovely flower garden. She made sure her gardens were weed free and beautiful. She made lovely quilts for her children.

Dad and mom enjoyed going on horseback rides on the river bottom. She was a magnificent cook and housekeeper. She fed many boys who came to help with the hay.

All these boys talked about the delicious meals served at the Reay home. She is survived by children, Robert (Diane) Reay, Vernal; Joyce (William, deceased) Thompson, Vernal; George (LaRue) Reay, Altonah; Phyllis (Frank) Jessen, Altonah; Darlene (Max, deceased) Thompson, Talmage; 21 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren and 34 great-great grandchildren with 5 more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Smith Heggie and Nora Elizabeth Meldrum, her husband, Dean Alexander Reay and siblings: Ruby Surenok, Nora Witbeck, Bruce Heggie, George Heggie, Grant Heggie, and Johnny Heggie.

A special thank you for the loving care of Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Fork/Moon Lake LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m at the church, and on Wednesday one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Altamont Cemetery.
