Margaret Estella (O’Hearn) Spence, 95, Creekside, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 while at Indiana Regional Medical Center. The daughter of James Charles and Florence Etta (Helman) O’Hearn, she was born April 12, 1923 in Huntingdon, PA. Margaret was a 1943 graduate of Indiana Area High School and was a member of the Plum Creek Presbyterian Church.

Margaret was a self-taught guitarist, seamstress and baker. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Surviving are her children, Dianna (James) Kough, Creekside, Norma (Robert) Martin, Trade City, Gerald R. Spence, Creekside; grandchildren, Amy Kough, Kurt L. (Amanda Hope) Martin, Corbet G. Martin, Reed L. (Kimberly) Spence, Catherine (Jon) Bailly; great grandchildren, Alexis, Austin, Mackenzie, Mariah, and Lucas Martin, Josh, James, and Joseph Bailly; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harland Reed Spence whom passed away in May of 2004 and whom she wed on September 22, 1947; grandson, Scott R. Martin; and siblings, Mary Westover, Annabelle Russell, Sarah Graff-Fulmer, Ethel Walker, Helen Craig, and James R. O’Hearn. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow in the Lefdahl Chapel.

Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
