Obituary for Margaret Truesdale Burris Mrs. Margaret Kate Burris, 75, of Lancaster passed away Friday, April 13, 2018. She was born August 21, 1942 in Kershaw, a daughter of the late Raymond Truesdale and Martha Jane Mangum Poston and her husband Willie. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She was of the Baptist faith and a foster mother to many children for over 25 years. She loved her nieces and nephews and was especially proud of her great-grandson, Corporal Daniel Sistar of the United States Marine Corp. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Burris will be private. Mrs. Burris is survived by a son, Robbie Gilmer and his wife Audrey of Albemarle, NC; two daughters, Kathy McDaniel and her husband Ken of Rock Hill and Laura Beth of Lancaster; a brother Raymond Truesdale and his wife Jan of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Sandra Williams and her husband Theron of Kershaw and Judy Talbert and her husband Jackie of Kershaw; eight grandchildren, Melissa Carlisle, Brandy Betancourt, Mikey McDaniel, Shona Kelly, Kristen Lambeth, Kelsey Lee, Kacie Lee and Lisa Houser; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel Sistar, Tyler Sistar, Kailynne McDaniel, Raimee McDaniel, Bentley McDaniel, Riley Kate Betancourt and Taylor and Patrick Bedwell.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Lancaster Funeral Home, and other times at her home. Notes to the family may be made at www. lancasterfuneralhome.com.
