Margaret Lentini, age 95, passed on to the Lord on April 20, 2018, in Cheboygan where she and her husband, Dr. Nicholas Lentini, raised their 6 children. He preceded her in death in 2010. Margaret was born October 5, 1922 in Detroit, the daughter of Dominic and Elvira (Forno) Anthony.

She attended Girls Catholic Central and went to art school at Cass Technological School. In 1942 she married Nicholas who was a medic in the 6th Armored Division of the U.S. Army for the duration of WWII. Margaret was first and foremost a great mother, grandmother and homemaker who had a variety of interests.

She used her artistic skills in many ways, most notably the Historic Mural in Washington Park. Margaret loved history and aided Ellis Olson in the discovery of Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park. For several summers she volunteered with the archeology program at Colonial Michilimackinac Historic Park.

Margaret was a founding member of the Jack-Pine Saddle Club. She was a leader of Trails End 4-H horseback riding club for children and usually had several horses entered in the Cheboygan County Fair. She enjoyed deer and bird hunting and fishing with her family and would often drive the boat when the whole family water skied in the summer on Mullett Lake.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn (Tom) Rautio, Larry Lentini, Jerome Lentini, Valerie (Phil) Porter, and Wayne Lentini. 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Beside her husband Nicholas, Margaret was preceded in death by her eldest son, Richard in 2013.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church on Friday, May 4 at 10:30 am. with Fr. James Gardiner officiating.

The Rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am followed by visitation with the family until the time of the mass. Memorial contribution may be directed to the Barrier-Free Project at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
