Obituary of Margaret Mirabito Margaret “Peg” “Peggy” E. Perry Mirabito died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Monday, November 26, 2018. She was born on August 20, 1928, the oldest child of Sarah and Wayne Perry of Bridgeport, CT. Mrs. Mirabito was a long time resident of Danbury, Connecticut.

She worked at Lassley TV in Bethel and was the Parish Secretary at St. James’ Episcopal Church for many years. After her retirement, she traveled with family and volunteered at St. James’ visiting shut ins. Family and friends were the heart and soul of her life.

Volunteering and doing whatever she could to help others was an important part of her life. Along with other parents of handicapped children, she helped to found DATAHR (Danbury Assoc. to Advance the Handicapped and Retarded) to provide much needed services for these children.

Margaret was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Francis J. “Frank” Mirabito, a son, Joseph Francis Mirabito, a brother, Donald Perry and a sister-in-law, Fredrica Perry. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Perry and Susan Mirabito of Cheshire, her daughter Dianne Mirabito-Hough and son-in-law John Hough of Middletown, her sister-in-law, Elaine Perry of Ballston Lake, NY and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: St. James’ Episcopal Church, 25 West Street, Danbury, CT 06810, the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.

The family would like to thank the staff at Glen Hill Center in Danbury where Mrs. Mirabito resided for their loving care and support. We also thank the staff and doctors at Danbury Hospital for their gentle and compassionate care in her final days. The calling hour will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James’ Episcopal Church, 25 West Street, Danbury at noon on Friday.
