Mrs. Margaret J. (Barnes) Mills, 89, a resident of Quincy Village and formerly of Trinity House, Waynesboro, died Monday evening, March 18, 2019, in the nursing home. Born January 18, 1930 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Oscar W. and Addie P. (Wagaman) Barnes. She and her husband, the late Guy Leroy “Geezzer” Mills, were married June 9, 1950 in Hagerstown, MD by the Rev.

Walter A. Lepp. They lived in South Mountain most of their married life. Mr. Mills died on August 15, 1998.

Mrs. Mills moved to Trinity House Apartments, Waynesboro, in November 2008. Mrs. Mills worked as a nurse’s aide for over 19 years at Samuel Dixon State Hospital presently South Mountain Restoration Center, South Mountain, PA. She was a member of Fayetteville Church of God and the National AARP.

She is survived by one daughter, Norma J. Naugle of South Mountain; two granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight sisters and three brothers.

It was her request to have no public service. Burial will be private in Strang’s Cemetery, South Mountain. Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling the arrangements.
