Margie Renee Haddock Bowen, 79, of Ayden, passed away on August 9, 2018 at the Vidant Hospice House with her family by her side. She was born on June 22, 1939 in Beaufort County, NC to Oscar Brown Haddock and Mildred Riggs Haddock. Margie was a longtime member of St. Delight OFWB Church, where she loved attending services and church activities.

Because of her condition, suffering from epilepsy, Margie never held a public job but worked, instead, at B & G Guns and Little Darlin’s Daycare, which were family businesses and caring for her grandchildren when they were young. For the past 2 years Margie called McGregor Downs her home where she felt loved and cherished. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, D. Glenn Bowen, Jr. less than a year ago and her father.

Margie is survived by her mother and three daughters, Tammy Bowen of Ayden and Mark Case, of Greenville, Patty Richardson and husband, Roy, of Ayden and Karen Oakley, of Ayden. She also leaves behind two sisters, Faye Singleton and husband, Frankie, of Washington and Carol Buck and husband, Thedie, of Greenville; five grandchildren, Johnny Bowen (J.B.) Oakley and wife, Tiffany, Colt Haddock Page and wife, Keehln, Joshua Glenn Richardson and wife, Brittany, Lindsey Gray Richardson and Suzanne Oakley Adams and husband, Josh; Great-Grandchildren, Eli, Ava, Liza Jane and Jed Oakley, Ella-James and Jack Page, Faith and Charlotte Adams, and Brantley Glenn Richardson; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to St. Delight FWB Church in Margie’s memory.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Service will follow visitation at 7pm at Farmer Funeral Service-Chapel. Interment in the Ayden Cemetery will be private.
