Obituary for Marie T. LaShorne Marie T. LaShorne, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at IU West Hospice in Avon, In. She was a resident of Brownsburg In for the past 18 years. She married Dr. Paul R. LaShorne on May 29, 1948 in Indianapolis, who preceded her in death on February 13, 1997.

She is survived by four children. Lynn (Tony) Gamron, of Trophy Club, TX, Paula Sessoms of Brownsburg, IN, John (Marsha) LaShorne of Seymour, IN, Ellen (Jon) Carter of Brownstown, IN. Grandchildren Tony and Ben Gamron, Kim Trimpe, Matt and Joe Sessoms, Luke and Paul LaShorne, Anne Bridges, Ryan and Brett Carter.

She had 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Katherine Carr of Indianapolis and Margaret Porter of Brownsburg, She was preceded in death by great granddaughter Olivia, four sisters and two brothers. Marie was born on January 24, 1929, in Indianapolis to William and Mabel Ryan.

She attended St Johns Academy. She married Paul LaShorne on May 29, 1948. The family moved to Seymour in 1959 where Seymour Eye Clinic was established.

Marie was the business manager for the practice. While residing in Seymour she was a member of St Ambrose Church, Psi Iota Xi sorority, Elks Club and several community charitable organizations. She was affectionately known to her great grand children as Gigi.

Family and friends may visit at Voss and Sons Funeral Service (316 N. Chestnut St.), Seymour on Wednesday April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. and at The St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Thursday after 9 am until time of Mass. Funeral Mass will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Seymour on Thursday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m., with Father Dan Staublin officiating assisted by Deacon Mike East. Entombment service will follow at Riverview Mausoleum.
