Marilyn E. Scheaffer, 50, of Wintersville, OH passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 in Boston, MA. She was born in Steubenville on March 10, 1968 a daughter of the late Augustus and Joyce M. Snodgrass Evans, Jr. Marilyn had lived in Ohio, Florida, Connecticut, Maryland and was a resident of Wintersville at the time of her death. She had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up the darkest room.

She had a warrior’s spirit, which she used to fight cancer for nearly a decade. She loved her dogs, cats and horses as much as she did her family and was an accomplished equestrian in several disciplines. She never met a stranger and would help anyone with anything.

Her spirit lives on in the hearts and minds of many. Marilyn is survived by her husband Doug; sisters Elaine (Dave) Spear, Brenda (Greg) Hough; brother Kenneth (Lynn) Evans and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd.

, Wintersville, OH on Friday from 3-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sam Davis officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
