Foscalina, a 4th generation Livermore Valley native, died Sunday, January 6th surrounded by family. She was born on January 20th, 1944 at St. Paul’s Hospital to parents Jack and Betty McCormick. Marilyn attended St. Michaels Catholic School in Livermore and graduated from there in 1958.

Following that she attended Livermore High School where she was student body secretary and graduated in 1962. Marilyn met her husband, Charles Foscalina, at a Teen Canteen Dance in January of 1959 and were never separated again, marrying on November 10th, 1962 at St. Michaels Church in Livermore. During their marriage they had the pleasure of having 4 great kids, Cindy Gallagher (Steve), Debra Rose (Mark), Mike Foscalina (Kris), and Lori Porter (David).

The loves of her life were her grandchildren; Danielle Bermingham (Colton), Sean Gallagher (Monica), Carly Rose, Kaitlyn Rose, Jake Foscalina, Dominic Foscalina, Luke Foscalina, Ashley Porter, Joe Porter and her great-grandchildren Case, Rhett and Duke Bermingham. Besides being the greatest wife and mother, she loved coaching soccer. She was the Varsity Girls Soccer coach at Livermore High for 7 years and spent countless years coaching for the Livermore Soccer Club.

She was also the assistant softball coach at LHS where her husband was coach and she was the conscience of the team for 17 years. She also thought she was a World Champion Ping Pong player and was very competitive in everything she did. One of her greatest passions was decorating the Livestock Showring at the Alameda County Fair where trailer loads of decorations would be hauled down for her.

She loved 4-H and FFA activities and was very supportive of them. She could gather a bunch kids in a heartbeat and con them into helping her do just about anything. With everything she was involved with she was also a passionate quilter, making quilts for the entire family, not quite finishing the one for her youngest granddaughter, Ashley.

All in all she was quite the woman and will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her, especially her husband of 56 years. A Visitation will be held at Callaghans Mortuary in Livermore on January 10th from 5-7 with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be on January 11th at St. Michaels Church at 10:00 AM with a reception to follow at the Veterans Hall in Livermore.
