Obituary for Marilyn Giffin Saginaw Twp. , Michigan Beloved mother and grandmother passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at her home. Age 87 years.

The daughter of the late Anthony and Viola (Barrenscheer) Maxwell, Marilyn was born on July 28, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married William Giffin on May 21, 1949. He predeceased her on March 26, 2009.

She was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish – St. Helen Catholic Church and League of Catholic Women. Marilyn was employed by Drs. Heavenrich, Jarvi, Mason and Rank Pediatricians.

Surviving are one son, Michael and Kathrine Giffin, Saginaw; her granddaughter, Abby (Michael) McKinney; several close nieces and nephews, Patrick and Barbara Frawley, Anthony Frawley, Laura Frawley, Daniel Frawley, Terri and David Schanz, Benjamin and Katie Schanz, John and Katy Schanz and Christopher Schanz. Marilyn was preceded in death by two sons Mark Giffin and Thomas Giffin; her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley (John) Frawley. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish – St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles St. Rev.

Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. , (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw County Animal Shelter.
