Obituary for Pasquale (Pat) DiSarno Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at HealthSource Saginaw. Age 92 years. The son of the late Salvatore and Maria (Del Bene) DiSarno, Pasquale was born October 12, 1925 in Acerra (Napoli), Italy, but his birth wasn’t recorded until October 15, 1925.

He attended primary and secondary schools in Italy and was also a trained barber. Pasquale was also a trained police officer in the Carabinieri. During WW II in 1943, he was taken as a civilian Italian citizen prisoner by the German forces and detained until the end of the war.

Pasquale came to the United States of America in 1947. He married Susan Panico in 1947 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Saginaw.

She predeceased him January 18, 2018. Pasquale had a beautiful tenor voice. He directed the choir at St. Casimir Catholic Church for many years to pay for his children’s Catholic education.

Pasquale also directed the Sons of Italy choir for over 30 years. He sang for many family weddings, funerals, his grandson’s priestly ordination and other special occasions. He was employed at General Motors Chevrolet Parts Plant for 37 years until 1983 when the plant closed.

Pasquale was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the Sons of Italy Sacra Famiglia Lodge #2456. Surviving are his children, James (Anne) DiSarno, Round Rock, Texas; Marian (John) Moll, Freeland; Patrick (Jean) DiSarno, Flushing; Carolyn (Ron) Richardson, Grand Blanc; eight grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren. Pasquale was preceded in death by a brother, Dominc DiSarno, a sister, Eugenia Cantore, and by two stillborn grandchildren.

Pasquale’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to HealthSource Saginaw, Courtney Darling and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care these past several months. He truly enjoyed all the friendships he made during his time there. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street in Saginaw.

Pasquale’s grandson, Rev. Fr. Daniel Moll, will officiate with entombment in Mt.

Olivet Mausoleum. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Thursday where the family will be present from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
