Obituary for James Engle Beloved father and grandfather passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Fountainview Golden Living Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. Age 79 years. The son of the late Carson and Helena (Walsh) Engle, Jim was born on October 8, 1938.

Jim married Kathleen Collins, his loving wife of 39 years, on October 1, 1977. She predeceased him on March 7, 2017. Jim, Kathleen and family enjoyed many years of going to Little Platte Lake in Honor, MI and visiting the casino when Kathleen was living.

Jim enjoyed a cold Budweiser Beer. He was a person who loved to tell jokes, make people laugh and enjoyed very much being a grandfather. Jim retired in 2000 from General Motors from the assembly Line after over 20 years of service.

Jim is survived by his daughter Sara (Marc) Whitmer of South Bend, Indiana; his grandson, Jacob Whitmer. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Engle.

Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. , (between Shattuck and McCarty). Pastoral Associate Tori Little will officiate with interment to follow in Mt.

Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Cancer Society.
