Marilyn Irene Sells of Silver Lake, Indiana passed away at 11:08 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana at the age of 85. She was born on July 19, 1933 in Warsaw, Indiana to Dorothea G. (Longfellow) Lozier and Ernest H. Lozier. On August 12, 1951 she was married to Duane C. Sells.

They shared 54 years together before he passed away on January 25, 2006. Marilyn was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Indiana where she was a 1951 graduate of Claypool High School. She and her husband Duane, owned and operated Sells Oil Company in Silver Lake, Indiana where she lived the majority of her life.

She was the bookkeeper for over 30 years and was a wonderful pianist and organist. Throughout the years since 1994, she played the organ for a number of area families for their loved ones funeral services at Titus Funeral Home. Marilyn was the church organist for many years at First United Methodist Church in Silver Lake, and played at Silver Creek Church of God in Silver Lake where she was also a member.

She was a member of Gideons International and worked for many years with Lakeland Child Evangelism. Marilyn loved God, life and especially loved her family. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son: Michael (Janet) Sells (Silver Lake, Indiana); two daughters: Karen (John) Shockey (Seminole, Florida); and Kathy Walters (Anderson, Indiana). Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Nolan (Natalie) Sells (Indianapolis, Indiana); Charyl (Chris) Petty (Anderson, Indiana); Joletta Sells (Montrose, California); Myra Sells (Fort Wayne, Indiana); Barbara (Andrew) Weatherill (Tallahassee, Florida); Benjamin (Rachel) Shockey (Clearwater, Florida); Daniel (Amanda) Shockey (Seminole, Florida); Carrie (Braden) Eppert (Pendleton, Indiana); Bethany (Gary) Rhoads (Pendleton, Indiana); Nathan (Lindsey) Walters (Anderson, Indiana); Alyssa (Jayvis) Mason (Anderson, Indiana); and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Frederick, James and Lawrence Lozier, and her sister, Genevieve Ernsberger.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana. There will also be time for visitation an hour prior to the service at the church. Her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Silver Creek Church of God, 6504 W. 1300 S., Silver Lake, Indiana and officiated by Pastor Tom Craig.

Burial will follow with a graveside service at Lakeview Cemetery in Silver Lake, Indiana. Memorial donations in Marilyn’s name may be directed to Silver Creek Church of God, 6504 W. 1300 S., Silver Lake, Indiana 46962; or to The Gideons International, Memorial Bible Chairman, P.O. Box 766, Winona Lake, Indiana 46590-0766 and would be appreciated by the family.
