Mrs. Marilyn Poole Gamradt, 85, beloved wife of the late Anthony R. “Skip” Gamradt, died May 3, 2018 in Dothan, Alabama. Funeral services will be held in Rockport, Massachusetts. Mrs. Gamradt was born November 8, 1932 in Rockport, Massachusetts.

She was the oldest daughter of the late Lewis R. Poole and Margaret E. Reilly Poole. Mrs. Gamradt was always very proud that she decended from the second settlers of Rockport, John Pool. Marilyn graduated from Rockport High School Class of 1950 and graduated from Salem State Teachers College in 1954, and taught many students in the Cape Ann area.

Mrs. Gamradt was very well liked and loved by her students that she fondly referred to as her “kids”. She also worked at Gortons of Gloucester, Massachusetts and later at the Town Hall in Rockport, Massachusetts, where she retired. She was a former member of the Gloucester Fraternity Club Ladies Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Rockport American Legion Auxiliary Unit 98, of which she held many offices including Past President.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her niece and Godchild, Patricia Torrisi; her brother, James R. Reilly and his wife, Mary; brother-in-law, John Gamradt and his wife Mary Gamradt; and her sister-in-law, Eunice Burke. She leaves behind two daughters, Susan Beal, wife of the late Kenneth Beal; and Nancy Amazeen, wife of Edward Amazeen; grandchildren, James Francis, United States Army, and his wife Tanya, Melissa Perreira-Andrews, wife of Leonard Andrews, Holly Fleming, Lawrence Fleming, and his wife Krystal, Christen Fleming and her companion, Joseph Fitzgerald, Kathleen Fleming whom she loved her facetime chats with, Jennifer Holmes, wife of Jesse Holmes, Anthony Beal, Nicholas Beal, Christopher Beal, United States Navy; five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; a sister, Marguerite Fears and sister-in-law, Harriet Speice, wife of Donald Speice. Several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews that she loved dearly.
