Merlo, 86, of Linden, NJ passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from the Werson Funeral Home, 635 North Wood Avenue, Linden at 9:15 AM. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church in Linden at 10 AM.

Interment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park, Linden, NJ. Mario was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and has since been a lifelong Linden resident. He was self employed as an Accountant for Mario V. Merlo & Associates in Linden.

Mario was a member of the Linden Knights of Columbus, the Linden Italian American Club, and he enjoyed sports and traveling. Mario was predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Regina Merlo on May 17, 2018, and his son Albert Merlo on August 6, 2003. Surviving are his 2 loving children, Victor Merlo and Michele Pryor and her husband Thomas, his cherished granddaughter, Alison Pryor and her husband Guillaume Dejardins, his sister, Tana Mannuzza and her husband Frank, and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations to Strays R Us, P.O. Box 345, Rahway, NJ, 07065 in his memory would be appreciated.
