Obituary for Marion L. Kull Marion “Mina” L. Kull, 90, of Red Wing, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 8, 2018 at Potter Ridge Assisted Living. She was born May 2, 1928 in Red Wing to Milton and Hazel (Siewert) Johnson. She grew up in Red Wing and attended Red Wing Central High, graduating in 1946.
On July 1, 1950 she married Kenneth Kull at St. John’s Lutheran Church and together the couple raised 2 children. Marion worked as a switchboard operator, assisted in sales at a children’s clothing store, did the bookkeeping for her father’s business and also worked at Hernlem Cartage. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing.
She enjoyed golfing and playing bridge with the card club she and Ken were a part of for more than 50 years. She and Ken were also Vikings fans who had season tickets for many years. Mina loved to have a good time and enjoyed entertaining around her swimming pool.
She loved animals and was an avid walker, walking nearly every day of the year, regardless of the weather. She is survived by her son, Larry (Debbie) of Red Wing; daughter, Wendy (William) Amundson of Red Wing; three grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Baartman, James Kull and Jessica Amundson and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; grandson, Scott Kull; brother, Waldo Johnson and her parents.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Heartland Hospice, Mayo Hospice, the Potter Ridge staff and nurse, Linda Byers for taking such good care of her for so long. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2018 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Peter Sternberg officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and one hour prior to the service at church.
