Obituary for Sharon Kay Groszbach Sharon K. Groszbach, age 78, of Zumbrota, passed away, on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, St. Mary’s Campus. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 11:00 am at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Tom Isaacson officiating. The visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Burial will be in the Zumbrota Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel in Zumbrota. Sharon Kay Sikkink was born in Preston on February 9, 1940 to Arden and Ruth (Bjortomt) Sikkink.

She attended Prairie Queen Country school and Preston High School. The family then moved to Zumbrota, where Sharon graduated from Zumbrota High School in 1958. She attended Mankato State and Rochester Junior College, obtaining a certificate in accounting.

She began working for First National Bank in Rochester. Sharon married Arnie Groszbach on September 18, 1965 at United Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. Together they had one daughter, Amy.

In 1973 Sharon worked part-time for Madonna Towers helping her mother in housekeeping. She also helped her husband with his business, together they worked from 1965-1997 operating Arnie’s Electric. They both retired in 2001.

They enjoyed life on the farm, weekly coffee with friends, cruising the country side, especially in the convertible on a nice day, and attending music in the park. Sharon was a member of United Redeemer Lutheran Church and Zumbrota Hospital Auxiliary. Sharon enjoyed mowing lawn, flower gardening, embroidery, reading, and spending time with family.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Arnie; daughter Amy (husband, Dr. John O’Brien) Groszbach of Oronoco, brother, Alan (Arlys) Sikkink of Zumbrota; brother-in-law, Francis Pflibsen of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
