Obituary for Glennis A. Anfinson Glennis A. Anfinson age 86 of Wanamingo died on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at The Gardens at Cannon Falls. Funeral service is Tuesday, July 24th at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church – Aspelund with Pastor Gideon Johnson officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Monday, July 23rd from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home – Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Glennis Arlen Anfinson was born on July 6, 1932 in Zumbrota Township, Goodhue County, MN to Arthur and Isabel (Lerfald) Anfinson. He grew up on the farm, attended country school and graduated from Kenyon High School in 1950.

Glennis started farming with his father. He served in the U.S. Army from October 15, 1954, to September 27, 1956. After his discharge he resumed farming with his father.

On June 13, 1959 he married Charlene Fredrickson at Minneola Lutheran Church. Glennis continued farming with his father and in 1970 Glennis purchased his father’s farm. In 1986 they sold the farm to their son Brian.

Glennis started working at Foldcraft in Kenyon and worked there until 2000. Glennis was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church – Aspelund, serving as Treasurer for over twenty years and a member of the Wanamingo Veterans Honor Guard. He enjoyed bowling, cheering for Minnesota sports teams, attending his families sporting events and spending time with family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Glennis is survived by his wife, Charlene; children. Pam (Greg) Hoffman, Brian (Shayla) Anfinson, Mark (LeeAnn) Anfinson and Tricia (Chris) Smedsrud; grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob and Lukas Hoffman, Justin (Stephanie), Andrew (Chelsey), Brady and Madeline Anfinson, Makayla Anfinson, Marisa and Abby Smedsrud; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Drew Anfinson; step-grandchildren, Jeryln (Ryan) Vick and Charlene (Sam) Swanland; step-great-grandchildren, Hunter Vick, James, Isaac, Everly and Lucy Swanland; sister-in-law, Janet Anfinson; nephews, Herb Anfinson, David Underdahl, Kevin (Julie) Underdahl; nieces, Ingeborg Anfinson, Susan (Gerald) Ayers and Karen (Craig) Kunde. Glennis was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Isabel; brother, Duane Anfinson and sister and her husband, Shirley (Luvern) Underdahl.
