Obituary for Lorraine Madeline Mehrkens Lorraine Madeline Mehrkens, 93, of Red Wing died on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Trinity Care Center in Farmington. She was born in Red Wing on November 19, 1924 to Alvin and Catherine (Bolin) Eidem. Lorraine attended school at Lindgren and Maiden Rock schools.

She was united in marriage to John “Sonny” Mehrkens on November 19, 1947. She worked at Riviera Kitchens, Durkee-Atwood and as a sales representative at Red Wing Pottery and Kid Duds in Cannon Falls, selling many different product lines. Sonny died on October 24, 2015.

Lorraine was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Red Men Club, and a lifetime goer of the Red Wing Elks Club and the American Legion. She enjoyed playing cards – especially poker, fishing, and cooking. Lorraine is survived by her son, Randy (Cindy Godfrey) Mehrkens of Red Wing; one grandson, Kyle (Flavia) Mehrkens of Red Wing; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Johnson of Amery, WI and Eleanor Diercks of Red Wing; two brothers, Alvin (Lorna) Eidem of Esdaile and Tracy Eidem of Ellsworth; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Greg Bolt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
