Obituary for Doris L Holtan Doris Lucille Holtan, 90, of Lake City died Monday, July 09, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center in Wabasha, Minnesota surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Doris was born on May 2, 1928 to Adolph and Selma (Benson) Berg of Zumbrota-Pine Island area. She married Willard Holtan on October 20, 1945 at St. John’s Church in Kasson, Minnesota.

They were blessed with three sons, Alfred, Allan and Alden Holtan. Doris was a stay at home mom and farm wife all of her married life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In 1960 they moved from Byron, Minnesota to Wabasha, and in 1980 moved from the farm to Lake City. She is survived by her three sons, Alfred (Miriam) Holtan of Lake City, Allan (Twila) Holtan of Wabasha, and Alden Holtan of Wabasha; six granddaughters, Dawn (David) Finley, Michelle Holtan, Holly (Joshua) Olson, Nicole (Travis) Sanders, Andrea (Douglas) Erdmann, Tiffany (Jeremy) Hadler; fifteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard.

A celebration of Doris’s life will be 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend David Peters officiating. Friends and family may pay their condolences one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery immediately following the funeral.

Honorary pallbearers will be Doris’s granddaughters. Her family would like to thank St. Elizabeth’s Health Care Center staff in Wabasha for their excellent care during her illness and also Heartland Hospice for their care and concern throughout her final days. Memorials are preferred to St. John’s school.
