Conway Martin Jacobson was born on September 26, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN and brought to Zumbrota, MN by his loving parents, Marna (Bestul) Jacobson and Conrad Jacobson. He spent his entire life in the Zumbrota area. Conway was a 1969 graduate of Zumbrota High School and took one year of farm management at the Faribault Vocational School.

He enlisted with the Army National Guard in 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1975. Conway had many good times in the Guards and spoke of them often with his friends. It brought him happiness to relive some of their escapades.

Conway was a farmer from the time he was a small boy on his parents’ farm. He worked with his father before and after school and eventually purchased his own farms in the Zumbrota area. He was always so proud when his crops grew in perfectly straight rows.

In 1982, after the death of his father, he helped his mother manage the farms his father owned and took care of his own land. Everyone who knew Conway thought of him as a hard-working, caring, loving friend. After he sold his cattle in 1986 he rented out his farmland and went to work for Zumbrota Livestock.

He was still able to be around the farmers and the animals so it kept him close to his farming roots. He considered the Websters as part of his own family and thoroughly enjoyed going to work. When the Livestock Barn was sold, he went to work for Grover Auto.

Conway’s family and the Grover family had been lifelong friends so he felt he was going “home” when he went to work. He always had a special place in his heart for the Websters and the Grovers. On August 11, 1984, Conway married Kathy Solem from Rochester.

He lovingly welcomed her and her daughters into his life. God couldn’t have given her and her daughters a better husband or Dad. He loved them and his grandchildren with his whole being.

His most cherished memories are of having his grandchildren fishing with him on his pontoon. Conway is survived by his wife, Kathy, daughters Shannon Howard and her daughter Kelsey; Angela Morken, her husband Jon and their children Mikayla, Jacob, Carson and CharLee; his sister Gail Butler; mother-in-law Virginia Solem and sister and brothers-in-law, Pat and Jim Thiel and Avis and Tony Erickson. Conway was preceded in death by his father and mother; his step-father Jerry Walker; father-in-law John J. Solem; his grandparents; nephew, Cole Butler; son-in-law, Terry Howard and several aunts and uncles.
