Marjorie Etta Williams Runge , July 12, 1928 — June 26, 2018

Marjorie Etta Runge ( née Williams) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June, 26, 2018 in Lawrence, Massachusetts at the age of 89. Marjorie was born on July 12, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts to her parents, Ashley Williams and Lillian Williams ( née Chetwynd). Marjorie was married to her husband, Carl Otto Runge Jr. for 43 years.

Together they made many memories including family gatherings, weekend card games and years of camping in Barrington, New Hampshire. Marjorie worked in the school cafeteria while her children were young and was always willing to open her home to family members. Marjorie and Carl retired to their farmhouse in Newfield, Maine where they loved to host holidays and continued to make many family memories.

After her husband passed away, she moved to her home in East Lebanon, Maine where she lived near her sister, Barbara Roberts for ten years. She then moved to Methuen, Massachusetts where she lived with family before entering her final chapter at Mary Immaculate. Marjorie loved trips to Nova Scotia, visiting lighthouses, crocheting & knitting, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She frequently went to Fenway Park with her sister, Barbara Roberts and enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox far into her eighties. Marjorie is survived by her son Carl O. Runge III and his wife Dianne Runge of Methuen, MA; her son Keith A. Runge and his wife Deidre Runge of Methuen, MA; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her father and her mother whom she cared for for many years prior to her passing; her husband Carl, her sister Barbara, and her great-grandson Tyler Runge.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Mary Immaculate Restorative Center for taking such good care of her over the past three years. Services will be held at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen, MA, on Thursday, June 28, 2018 with visiting hours between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm with a funeral service near the end of the visiting hours, followed by a family burial.
