Miller 93, of Macomb, formerly of East Moline, passed away at 7:10 PM Tuesday Dec. 25, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. Marlin, the eldest child of Tracy R. & Neva M. (Printy) Miller; was born on the family farm in Hancock County, Illinois on February 14, 1925.

He married Wanda Featherlin of Macomb. She passed away on Oct. 4, 1957 following the birth of their stillborn son, Monte Yale.

Also preceding him in death were his parents, sister, Arbutus “Judy” Rockwell and brother, Robert L. Miller; his long-time companion and best friend Peggy L. Johnson of East Moline. Survivors include his daughters, Marlise (Carl) Rittenhouse of Macomb, IL, Rhonda (Terry) Carlock of Tennessee, IL; 4 grandchildren, Heather Chute, Robyn (Shane) Kilburn of Macomb, Brian (Kelli) Rittenhouse of Eureka, IL, Kyle (Arianna) Zvonik of Carbon Cliff, IL; 9 great-grandchildren, Spencer, Ava, and Grant Kilburn, Monte, Natalie, and Kobie Chute, Carter and Logan Rittenhouse and Ivan Zvonik. His extended family included the children of Peggy Johnson, Donald “Buzzy” and Judy Jones and family of Moline, David and Denise Jones and family of Davenport, Iowa, Donna and Carroll Schlitz and family of Bettendorf, Iowa and his precious East Moline neighbors, Rafael, Violeta, Jovani, Natalie, Genesis and Emilio Camargo.

Marlin had returned to Macomb in April of 2017 and was residing at Bickford Cottage where he made new friends who were dear and near to his heart. Services will be at 2 PM Saturday Dec. 29, 2018 at the Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home, where visitation will be Friday Dec.

28, from 5-7 PM. Rev’s Bob Tillman & Chuck Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
