OBITUARY Martha Collins Sampeck February 20, 1965 – August 29, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Martha Susan Collins Sampeck was called to heaven on August 28, 2018 at the age of 53. Martha was born on February 20, 1965 in Houston, TX, to Patrick (Pat) and Jo Collins. She grew up in Houston and attended Meadow Wood Elementary, Spring Forest Junior High and graduated from Stratford Senior High in 1983.

She received her B.A. in Education from Sam Houston State University and upon graduation, she married and moved to California. She began her teaching career in California and continued for many years in Arizona, Pennsylvania and most recently back in Texas. Martha’s greatest achievements were her precious children; her daughter, Rachel Sampeck and her son, Michael Sampeck.

Her children were her life and gave her the most happiness. She was busy helping her son and future daughter-in-law plan their upcoming wedding in October. Martha never met a stranger and brought laughter wherever she went.

She was a competitive tennis player and was known throughout Dallas for her fun spirit on and off the court. She loved decorating, dancing, music, animals and most of all, spending time with her children and friends. Martha is preceded in death by her mother Jo Collins and her newborn twin sons, Kevin and Mark.

Martha is survived by her father, Patrick (Pat) Collins of Houston and her children, Rachel Sampeck of Dallas and Michael Sampeck and his fiancé, Suzi Bass of North Carolina; her sister, Julia Collins Shanklin and her husband Brad of Plano; her brother, Vance Collins and his wife Ruth Papa Collins; and her twin brother, Robert Collins of Houston. She is also survived by her niece, Natalie Shanklin and nephews Connor Shanklin and Josh Collins. Martha leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as many friends.

Her sparkle will remain with so many forever! The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079. A Rosary will follow immediately at 6:00 P.M. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M on Monday, September 10, 2019 at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX 77079.

A memorial celebration of Martha’s life will be held in Frisco, TX on September 12, 2018 at The Westin Stonebriar Hotel & Golf Club, 1549 Legacy Dr. Frisco, TX 75034 at 2:00 P.M. with a reception following immediately after the memorial.
