Martha Jean Griffin Hendrix Hall age 75 of Smithville, passed away Tuesday night, June 19, 2018 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. She was born June 11, 1943 to her parents, the late Rollins and Mary Elizabeth Madry Griffin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Cassie Hendrix and 1 sister, Pat Wade.

She was a self-employed dog groomer. She leaves to cherish her memory, 3 children, Gina (Jack) Wheeler of Murfreesboro, Phillip (Jing) Hendrix, Jr. of Birmingham, AL, and Inga (Darrell) Johnson of Liberty; 13 grandchildren, Keshia (Thomas) Hale, Gabriel (Kyle) Robinson, Noah Byford, Justin Johnson, Eli Johnson, Carlie Sullivan, Zack Sullivan, Annie, Abbie, Allie and Jack Wheeler, Zhi Hendrix and Dylan (Kimberly) Sullivan; 6 great-grandchildren, Layne, Leighton, and Landry Hale, Daniel Brandt, Kylee Robinson, Aria Sullivan; 2 brothers, James Gary (Debbie) Griffin of Huntsville, AL and Johnny Falcon (Julie) Griffin of Decatur, AL; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services and interment will be held 1:PM Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur, AL with Bro.

Thomas Hale officiating. There will be a Celebration of life service held at 2:PM Sunday, June 24 at the Liberty United Methodist Church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home or prior to the service at the church.

Both services are open to all family and friends. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
