Funeral services for Martha Lee Gibson Asherbranner, age 93 of Demorest, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 22, 2019 at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Demorest City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service Friday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Asherbranner passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Born in Rabun County on August 25, 1925, Mrs. Asherbranner was the daughter of the late Tom and Manda Edwards Gibson. Mrs. Asherbranner was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Clayton.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Asherbranner is preceded in death by daughters Doris Scroggs and Lois Lovell, sons Jim Asherbranner and Glenn “Bud” Asherbranner and three grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Grady Asherbranner of Demorest, daughters Jane Brown of Clayton and Joyce Shook of Clayton, son and daughter in law Pete and Wanda Asherbranner of Demorest, 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.
