Martha “Marty” Ocampo June 6th, 1949 – February 24, 2019 Martha “Marty” Ocampo, 69, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019. She was born on June 6, 1949 in San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, the daughter of Herminia Figueroa and Guadalupe Solorzano. She attended Catholic Church, St Rose of Lima, from which she took great comfort.

Marty, with love and patience, cared for her two grandchildren. She took great pride in cooking, which everyone would agree was delicious. She recently start sewing classes with her sister, Terry.

Crocheting and knitting were also past-times. She adored visiting a movie theater whenever possible, and collecting Disney memorabilia, especially anything Ursula. Whenever possible, she would spend time with friends.

She often found reason to venture to Walmart and Costco, taking her time to visit each and every isle. At least yearly, she would travel to see family in either Nebraska, Texas, or California. Marty is survived by her siblings, Joe Solorzano, Robert Solorzano, Isela Montiel, Raul Solorzano, Dora Rodriguez, Terry Figueroa, Greg Figueroa, Ricardo Solorzano, Paco Solorzano, Armida Marquez, Geraldo Solorzano.

Her sons, Michael (Michelle) Buttanda of Victorville CA, and Christopher (Joe) Buttanda of West Point, UT. Also, her granddaughter, Ciera (David) Buttanda and grandson, Nikolas (Rachel) Morales. As well as her godchildren, Diane, Stephanie, Gina, Michelle, Isabelle, Alyiah, and Dylan.

Close family friends include, Martha “Shorty” Morales, Corina Denzeler Hoffman, Tracy Collar, and the Barajas’ Family. She is preceded in death by her father, Guadalupe Solorzano, and daughter, Melissa Buttanda. Friends may visit with family at 12:30pm – 1:30pm.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, at 2pm at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W 5600 S, Roy, UT 84067.
