Michael James Sakashita October 11, 1985 ~ February 20, 2019 Michael James Sakashita, 33, passed away at home on February 20, 2019 after a long battle with heart and lung disease. Mikey was born on October 11, 1985 in Ogden, Utah, the son of Michael and Sharyl Sakashita. He attended Weber County Schools.

He worked at Associated Foods for many years, until his health declined and was no longer able to continue working. Mikey’s hobbies included Kenpo karate, riding motorcycles, and hanging out with friends and family. He enjoyed spending all of his time with his beloved dog and best “Best Friend” Malakai.

Surviving are his mother, Sharyl Sakashita; sisters, Kim (Sean) Pickett, Tracy (Mike) Zitting, Meghan, Beth, Shanna, Sydney, and Mikeal; brothers, Charlie Elliott, Adam Elliott, Bill Elliott, and Jeff Zitting; nieces, Maia, Micha, and Addy; and nephews, Rylin and Bear. Preceded in death by his father, Michael Sakashita; uncle, Leo and auntie Mamiyo; and grandparents, Hideo Sakashita, Clyde and Ruby Davis. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
