Martin E. “Eddie” Weaver, 72, of Carmi, passed away at 6:43 p.m., Sunday May 13, 2018 at Carmi Manor. He was born in Carmi, IL on July 1, 1945 the son of Charles Frederick and Ada Frances (Vaught) Weaver. Eddie married Ruth Ann Gross on May 14, 1966 and she survives.

He was a 1963 graduate of Frankton High School in Frankton, IN. He had worked for Wabash Valley Service Co. and later retired from Burnt Prairie Fertilizer. Eddie served in the US Army during Vietnam receiving a Bronze Star.

He loved walking and was an avid Carmi White County Bulldog and Notre Dame fan. Eddie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth; two sons, Bryan Weaver, of Carmi and Trevor Weaver, of Indianapolis, IN; three grandchildren, Katelyn, Justin and Cameron Weaver; cousin, Mary “Sis” (Ed) Daugherty, of Barryton, MI; step-sister, Sue Smithpeters, Newburgh, IN; and a sister-in-law, Teresa Weaver, of Carmi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Weaver and Ada Frances Brown and a brother Richard Weaver.

Funeral services for Martin E. “Eddie” Weaver, 72, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery in Carmi. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Eddie’s memory to Carmi Manor and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
