Mr. Martin Edward Winebarger, better known as Marty, age 83 of Creston, died Monday, May 14, 2018 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Winebarger was born February 23, 1935 in Ashe County to the late Conley and Alma Allen Winebarger. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brothers, Enoch and Avery Winebarger and sister, Chrissie Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2018 at Pine Mtn. Baptist Church by Brother Rector Henson and Brother Anthony Roark. Burial will follow in the Lewis Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM prior to the service, and on Thursday, May 17th from 6 -8 PM at the home of her granddaughter at 900 Brushy Fork Rd in Creston. Mr. Winebarger is survived by his wife, Judy Lewis Winebarger, daughter, Roxanne Maltba (Darrell) of Creston, son, Jamie Winebarger (Sylena) of Wilkesboro, brothers, Roy and Marion Winebarger both of Creston and JC Winebarger of West Jefferson, grandchildren, Brittany Winebarger, Brady Severt, and Ethan Winebarger, sister-in-laws, Nancy Lunsford, Tressie Winebarger, Shirley Winebarger and Mary Winebarger, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family c/o Badger Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., West Jefferson, NC 28694.
