Mrs. Joyce Cunningham Norris, age 81 of Creston, NC died on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Norris was born on October 31, 1936 in McVeigh, KY to George and Betty Chapman Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Shelton Norris; two sisters, Lorene James and Geneva Cunningham; two brothers, Jack Cunningham and Pete Cunningham; two infant siblings.

Mrs. Norris dearly loved her family and friends. She was a member of West Jefferson First Baptist Church where she was actively involved. She enjoyed painting, was a volunteer at Riverview Community Center, and was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Norris is survived by: two daughters, Teresa Poole and Beverly Davis, both of Creston; one son, William Norris of Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, George Cunningham of Doniphan, MO and Paul Cunningham of Merlin, OR; one sister, June Dale of Edgarton, WV; two grandchildren, Sara Gardner and Jeffery Keith Davis; also surviving are 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Jefferson First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 180, West Jefferson, NC 28694.
