Alonza Grey Allen better known as “Flap”, age 78 of Creston died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Margate Health and Rehab. Center. Mr. Allen was born August 12, 1939 in Ashe County to the late Alonza and Carrie Osborne Allen.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by sisters, Bernice Baldwin and Mable Price, brothers, Elmer, Ned and Gene Allen and an infant sister. “Flap” ran a beverage store in TN years ago and later opened Allen’s Grocery in Creston. He was very well known and had many friends whom he loved to joke with.

He loved his dog, Snuggles, and will be missed greatly by all his family and friends in the community. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Three Forks Baptist Church. Burial will follow the Allen Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm prior to the service. Mr. Allen is survived by his sister, Betty Jane Allen Eastridge of PA, special caregivers, Robert Collie Sr. and Robert Collie Jr. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Riverview Community Center.
