OBITUARY Marvelle Lilly October 1, 1934 – August 30, 2018 Marvelle Lilly, 83, of Rockford, IL, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, August 30, 2018 at Alden Debes after a short illness. She was born October 10, 1934 in Walnut Ridge, AR, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Ingram) Holder. Marvelle married William Lilly on November 1, 1951.

She was employed at Warner Lambert for over 20 years. Marvelle loved playing games, such as dominos, boggle and Uno. She was always smiling, never grumpy and had a positive attitude.

Marvelle was known to her grandchildren for having her candy drawer. Marvelle is loved and missed by her children, Rick (Mona) Lilly, Pam Johnson, and Jeff Lilly; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Duffy, Jim Johnson, Daniel (Rhea) Lilly, Linda (Robbie) Hoover, Kayla (Jeremy Zbleski) Lilly; great-grandchildren, Parker Johnson, Madison Johnson, Gage Hoover, Megan Hoover, Peyton Zbleski, Quinn Lilly, and Paisley Zbleski. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Lilly; brother, William Holder, and son-in-law, James Johnson.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and the staff of Alden Debes for their loving and compassionate care of Marvelle. A celebration of Marvelle’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m., until the time of service.

Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
