Mary A. (Bivins) Viars, age 81, of Freeport, IL, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away at 6:58 a.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at home. Mary was born July 21, 1936, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Frank C. and Edna Earl (Poe) Bivins. She worked as a private healthcare worker in Evansville and later retired as the Head of Hospitality at Executive Inn in Evansville.

Mary was an avid quilter and fisherman. She is survived by her daughters, Susan “Diddle” Reid (Brad) of Bloomington, IL, Kim Marie Johnstone (Mark) of Freeport, IL, and Linda Gladd (Mike) of Ottawa, IL; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Viars; sons, Gary Huggins and Donald “Red” Huggins; and 3 sisters; 3 brothers; and 3 grandsons.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with Reverend Bill Heard officiating. Burial will be Private. Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time, Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL.
