OBITUARY Mary Alice Dowdy March 22, 1928 – October 4, 2018 Mary Alice Dowdy (nee Nipper), 90, of Belleville, IL, born March 22, 1928 in Blytheville, AR, passed away Friday, October 4, 2018 in Belleville, IL. Mary was of the Christian faith and a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of Belleville. She enjoyed camping, traveling and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.

Mary married James E. Dowdy on June 14, 1974 and he preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents William Richard Nipper and Anna Banks Nipper (nee Garner) and sister, June Inman. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Rickey (Tina) Rainwater; daughters, Anita Kresse and Theresa “Tee” (Tom) Bayless; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, John “Billy” (Dutchie) Nipper; sister, Ruth (Norville) Thiry; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church. Private Interment at Lake View Memorial Gardens.
