Obituary Service Details Joe “ Pepe” Manso, age 67 of Fairmont City, Il born on April 28, 1951 in East St. Louis, Il died on Friday, November 23 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Over the years Pepe worked for the Meyer Family Farm in Granite City, IL, Anheuser- Busch Brewery, St. Louis, MO, Bob Brockland Pontiac in Fairmont City, IL, Xtra Intramodal in Fairmont City, IL, and finally was the director of Public Works Department of Fairmont City, Illinois for 26 years. He served the Illinois National Guard/ Army from 1969- 1972.

He was an avid golfer and bottled capper and enjoyed collecting wine. Pepe was preceded in death by his wife Carla J. Manso, nee Halwachs, and his father Joe Manso. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Manso, nee Gregory of Fairmont City, IL; his sisters, Rebecca “Becky” Manso of Fairmont City, IL, Karen Manso of Fairmont City, IL, Toni (Tom) Pflueger of Fairmont City, IL and his brother Kevin (Christie) Manso of Troy, IL.

He was a loving uncle, great uncle, nephew and cousin. He left many dear friends who are like family. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or to Stray Rescue of St, Louis, Mo.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, IL.

Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
