Baney, 95, of Connersville, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at her home. She was born on October 6, 1923, in Connersville, and is the daughter of Bennie Lucas and Helen Sturgis Lucas. On November 28, 1940, she married Albert J. “Bud” Baney in Connersville.

They were able to enjoy 63 years together before he passed in December 2003. Mary had worked at Ford for 10 years before she retired in 1979. She enjoyed crocheting and helping others.

She was a giving person and was always there when someone needed her. She helped to raise her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She is survived by a son, Buddy Joe (Ingrid) Baney, of Connersville; two sisters, Shirley Hendrickson, of Lynn and Beverly Payton, of Connersville; a grandson, Michael Baney; two step-grandchildren, Travis Banks and Nichole Banks; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Nicholas Baney; two step great-grandchildren, Taylor Banks and Ashton Harmon, and a daughter-in-law, Annalou Baney Hampton.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy Lee Baney; a grandson, Buddy Joe Baney Jr., and three brothers, Lee Watson, Ralph Lucas, and Elmer Lucas. Visitation for Mary will be on Monday, February 18, 2019, from 10:00am until 12:00pm, at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm, at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Dale Cemetery.
