James Herman Craig, 77, of Connersville passed away Sunday afternoon, March 10, 2019 at Hickory Creek of Connersville where he had been a resident since December 1, 2018. He was born December 9, 1941 in Connersville, one of six children of James R. and Mary Elizabeth “Isabelle” Davis Craig and was a 1960 graduate of Connersville High School. Herman served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War in the 8th Artillery, 25th Infantry Division.

Upon his Honorable Discharge in 1966, he returned to Connersville for residence. He was employed at Riedman Motors, Design & Manufacturing and for a number of years at Visteon, retiring in 2006. A dedicated veteran, he was a member of VFW Post #571 where he had served as Post Commander; a member of the American Legion Post #1 and also was a member of the Eagles Lodge #1065.

Herman was a very faithful member of the VFW where he had volunteered for many of the daily activities at the club and represented the local Post at District and local meetings. Survivors include five children, Noramanda Kaye Craig, of New Albany, Indiana, Edward T. (Kimberly) Craig, of Connersville; James Dennis Craig and Cholon Denise Stang, both of Aubrey, Texas and Dannette (Steve) Clark, of Brownsburg, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Pamela J. Craig, of Connersville. James is also blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins and his many friends at the VFW.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Marion Craig, George R. Craig, Duane R. Craig and Timothy L. Craig. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Reverend Dennis Perkins officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Fayette County Veterans Council.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of the Service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW, Post #571. Friends may also visit online at anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
