Stephen Duane Browning December 25, 1970 – May 27, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation On Monday, May 27th, 2019, Stephen Duane Browning, 48, of Brookville, IN, went to his heavenly home after a hard fought battle with cancer. Steve passed peacefully while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 25, 1970 to William and Viola (Smith) Browning in Connersville, IN.

He had attended Franklin County High School where he graduated with the class of 1989. Steve was a devoted husband to his wife, Stephanie, for 24 years. They were married on June 24, 1995 in Metamora, IN.

Steve and Stephanie are the parents of Sydney Browning and Stevie Browning Jr. Steve was an amazing father, friend, hard worker, and a wonderful provider. Steve grew up working with his father, Bill, in the logging business where he later became the owner and operator of Wm. Browning Logging.

He enjoyed drag racing, hunting, fishing, watching his son wrestle, and spending time with his family and friends. He was also a member of the Franklin County 4 Wheelers. Along with his wife and children, Steve will be greatly missed by a sister, Wilma (David) Hovis of Harrison, OH; two brothers, Bill (Marky) Browning and John (Holly) Browning both of Brookville, IN; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Steve is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Lottie Browning; maternal grandparents, Carl and Kate Smith; father-in-law, Troy Harrison; and a niece, Tiffany Hovis. Visitation for Steve will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Urban-Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St. Liberty, IN. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, June 1, 2019, 11:00, with David “Buck” Smith officiating .

A graveside service will immediately follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, IN.
