Harrison, 86, of Connersville, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Reid Health in Richmond. He was born on November 23, 1932, in Sand Gap, Kentucky, and is the son of the late Charley Harrison and Eva Clemmens Harrison. Colen had served as a Petty Officer 3rd Class with the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He was a member of the V.F.W. He had worked as a welder at Connersville Casket Company and at D&M, from where he later retired. In his leisure time, he loved going fishing and gardening.

He also enjoyed going for walks and playing cards. Colen is survived by his wife, Doris Cruse Potter Harrison, whom he married on June 5, 2007; three children, Charles (Beverly) Harrison, of Laurel, Bruce (Carol) Harrison, of Crittenden, KY, and Sandra (Bruce) Ellis, of Rushville; a step-son, Gary (Jonna) Potter, of Richmond; a brother, Elmer Harrison, of Sand Gap; fourteen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Madeline Weigel Harrison, who passed in 1998; a step-son, Larry Potter, and five brothers, Arnold, Alvin, Carl, Willard “Bill”, and Eugene Harrison.

Visitation for Colen will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Bruce Harrison and Jason Houston officiating. Burial with military graveside honors presented by the Fayette County Honor Guard will be at Dale Cemetery.
