It is with great sadness that the family of Edith A. Denham, 92, of Everton wishes to announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday evening, May 8, 2019, at Caroleton Manor. One of seven children of John W. and Dorothy Poynter Jones, Edith was born on April 7, 1927, in New Castle, Indiana. She was proud to have been baptized by her grandmother’s first cousin, Billy Grahm, Sr. in North Carolina.

She married the love of her life, Grover C. Denham, in Gas City, Indiana while he was on leave from the United States Army Air Corps. Mr. Denham passed away on January 31, 2018. Together, they raised their children in Metamora, moving to Everton in 1973.

A homemaker, Edith took pride in caring for her family. A faithful member of the Lighthouse Gospel Pentecostal Church in Metamora, Edith was a devoted Sunday School teacher for many years. In the 1970s, Edith helped establish and volunteered for the Connersville Rap Line, a local counseling helpline.

For many years, she sold Avon, and in her leisure time, she enjoyed traveling, collecting dolls, and going on car rides to picnic in the country. Survivors include her children, Larry G. (Bonnie) Denham of Brookville, Indiana, Jeanette Lakes of Connersville, Ronald C. (Donna) Denham of North Carolina, Sandy (Roland) Cowan of Arizona, Beverley (Jack) Daniels of Connersville, Wayne (Beth) Denham of Everton, and Patty (Steve) Burch of Brookville; twenty grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; two siblings, Bud Jones of Deland, Florida and Diane Allen of Brookville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband of 70 years, Grover Denham, Edith was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings, Eddie Jones, Rosemary Combs, Marvin Jones, and infant Dora Jean Jones.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Eric Hopkins and Reverend Kim McHale will officiate. Burial will follow in Everton Cemetery.
