Michael E. Cregar, 66, of Connersville passed away late Wednesday evening, May 15, 2019, at his home. One of two children of James and Irma Wadle Cregar, Mike was born in Connersville on September 8, 1952, and graduated from Brookville High School with the class of 1970. Following his graduation, Mike attended Ball State University for two years, leaving to work with his father at the Marathon Station, now Speedway.

On August 28, 1971, Mike married the former Rita Turner in Blooming Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Cregar survives. With his father, Mike established Cregar Custom Elite in Blooming Grove and worked many years in partnership with Scott Kavanaugh and Mike Nichols at Quality Appliance and Refrigeration.

Later, he owned Kelstin Motors in Connersville before becoming employed at Visteon for ten years. Also, Mike was a realtor at Cornerstone in Connersville. In 2006, Mike moved to Palm Coast, Florida where he worked as a realtor and home inspector, moving back to Connersville in 2017.

In his leisure time, Mike enjoyed deer hunting with friends, fishing with his grandfather, mushroom hunting trips with his father, grandfather, and brother, going to the dog park in Florida, and spending time with his grandsons. Besides his wife of over 47 years, Rita Cregar, survivors include two daughters, Kristin Cregar of New Castle, Indiana and Kelsey Norris of Connersville; two sons-in-law, Sam Norris of Connersville and Cory Gault of New Castle; three grandchildren, Gabriel Norris, Evan Norris, and Declan Gault; a brother, Jeff (Cindy) Cregar of Richmond, Indiana; two nieces, Ashley Manore and Mackenzie Cregar; and his pet dog, Bella. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter, Kamdyn Paige Norris.

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Bruce Turner will officiate. A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date.
