Martha Young, 92, a longtime resident of Cincinnati, Ohio and Newport, Kentucky, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 27, 2019, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home where she had been residing for the past 15 months. The oldest of eight children of Oscar and Louanna Fields Hundley, Martha was born on July 24, 1926, in Owsley County, Kentucky. Although some would say she had a hard plight growing up, Martha always had a heart of gold and took joy in helping those in need.

On November 22, 1950, Martha married Charles Young and they celebrated 65 years of marriage. They adopted and raised one son, Charles “Chuck” Young. Martha was heartbroken when Chuck passed away.

Not one to allow misfortune to discourage her, Martha remained a dedicated friend to many and continued to make friends even when she was restricted to the nursing home. Her love of the Lord and friendship to others made a significant impact on many lives during her stay on this Earth. She will be missed and loved by all that knew her.

Besides her parents, husband, and son, Martha was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Hundley. Survivors include six siblings, Edward Hundley of Metamora, Indiana, James Hundley of Laurel, Indiana, Hansford (Rella) Hundley of Cincinnati, Charles Hundley of Booneville, Kentucky, Mary Schneider and Marie Thompson, both of Connersville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends may call from 2:00 until the time of service at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.

Reverend Tom Marshall will officiate. Burial will follow in Laurel North Cemetery. Online condolences may be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
