Taft – Mary Bowers passed away November 21, 2018. She was 81. Mary was born in Ft.

Worth. Texas on March 3, 1937 to William Howard and Lorraine (Martin) Robertson. Mary was a resident of Taft, Texas for the past 20 years and former resident of Kingsville, Texas on the King Ranch.

She retired from Laureles ISD where she was a Paraprofessional and Music Teacher. She was the pianist at the First Baptist Churchs in Taft, Lubbock and Kingsville. Mary also taught many students to play piano over the years.

Mary is preceeded in death by her husband, David Bowers; a daughter: Rosemary Shiller; and her parents. Survivors include 2 sons: John Bowers (Gwen) of Aransas Pass, Texas and Bill Bowers of Falfurrias, Texas; 5 grandchildren: Lindsey Bowers, Dr. Thomas Shiller (Adelina), Madison Shiller, Billy Bowers and Tucker Bowers; a son-in-law: Tommy Shiller of Taft, Texas; and a sister: Vivian Harrell of Kerrville, Texas. All services will be private.
