MARY D. SUMMERS Mary D. summer age 85 passed away February 19 of 2019 at 1:30AM in the comfort of her home in Kansas City Missouri. Mary was born February 11, 1934 in Goodman Mississippi to Henry Mabry and Emma Lansdown. After leaving Mississippi Mary grew up in Kansas City Missouri where she started working for Kansas City school district where she worked for many years.

Mary attended greater Mount Olive Baptist church for many, many years. She was involved in a lot of church activities, she loved to dance to the blues, cook, and clean. Every day was a party at Mary’s house they would say, people would say, you can always go to Mary’s house to get a hot meal and that she was a great neighbor with a hand from the south.

Mary was proceeded in death by her mother and father Henry and Emma; one sister Annie Lyman; two sons Jerry and Mark Mabry and one grandson Shaun Norton. Mary was a great mother to her 7 children and five remain; Ernest Mabry, Vincent Norton, Peggy Mitchem (Gary), Sheri Jackson (Anthony) and Suezette Norton. Mary leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memory three sisters, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-three great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at New Vision Church 9101 Blue Ridge KCMO. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery.
