Mary Elizabeth Irons, 88, of Florence, passed away May 28, 2019. She was a member of North Wood United Methodist Church and the New Covenant Sunday School Class. She retired from the Florence Electricity Department in the Customer Service Department after many years of service.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 10-12 noon at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Scott Coats officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Mrs. Irons was preceded in death by her husband, Orlan Irons; parents, Marvin and Catherine Cox; sisters, Betty Ruth Carter, Rebecca Cox, and Virginia Walker; and brothers, Phillip & Sonny Cox. She is survived by her daughter, Terry Irons Buchanan (Terry) of Florence; sister, Linda McClure (Doug) of Gulf Shores; brother, Kenneth Cox (Marjorie) of Florence; grandchildren, Dr. Trent Buchanan (Andrea) of Birmingham, Ty Buchanan (Meredith) of Birmingham, and Tucker Buchanan of Florence; great-grandchildren, Ann Parker Henderson, Anders and Cameron Buchanan all of Birmingham.

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Cox, Doug McClure, Terry Buchanan, Trent Buchanan, Ty Buchanan, and Tucker Buchanan.
